Paintings

I started painting around 2000 and took my first inspiration from the works of Jackson Pollock. I enjoyed painting my canvases and wood panels on the floor without using brushes, instead I utilized stir sticks and other tools to drip and throw the paint. I found that the random patterns that the paint made was very interesting, especially when more than one color combined while wet. As I progressed in my work, I started using a paint with a metal base that would oxidize and rust when an activator was applied. Then, by using water mixed with rock salt, coffee, and other corrosives, I was able to achieve a texture very similar to a highly rusted surface. I then progressed to using water-based house paints in multiple colors to take the drip paintings even further.
